Collins Excaliburs - Model T-179 Humbuckers
- Inspired by those quirky Gold Foil Japanese pickups of the '60's. But this is where any similarity ends. These are full fledged Dual Slug humbuckers built to kick the tubes into overdrive and clean up with a rollback on the volume. Gold foils were made with a field coil and rubber magnets and although they had cool looks they were a bit lo-fi and would not clean up with the volume. But these are humbuckers with cool looks that can be rolled back on the volume and clean up nicely. These are not a one trick pony and can produce a myriad of tones by rolling the volume and tone knobs up or down. Will cut through the mix and look sharp doing so.
- This custom set over-wound hand-wound modern Excaliburs feature vintage styling with modern tech. Made with the finest materials. The scale is 49.2mm like vintage PAF fits Les Paul style and two humbucker type guitars. Can be used on imports but check scaling will fit most mounting rings without any modifications.
- The neck pickup is wound 4% over and is smooth as butter, full of woman tones but with a mid punch while the bridge pickup is overwound 10% to bring out more punch in the mids and sing with vintage tones. Pinch harmonics ring with ease and effortless taps. Wound with a beautiful red modern single poly wire, taped and double potted to silence microphonics.
